Airline food
You hear a lot about how bad airline food is.
OK. I’m not going to argue it’s the culmination of culinary culture. But here’s how I think about it: Eight inches from my left elbow it’s 70 degrees below zero, the wind is more than 500 mph, and there’s not enough oxygen to sustain life. The fact that I can eat any food at all, and for that matter drink a glass of wine along with it, I find remarkable.
